It’s pumpkin season and whether you use yours to carve or create a delicious treat, there are plenty of places selling these orange orbs in all shapes, sizes and colours! The question is where to get your Halloween pumpkin on the Isle of Wight, and also some places to have fun too?

If you’re looking to pick your own pumpkin this Halloween, several farms on the Island are opening up their pumpkin patches for you to explore and find the perfect one.

Tapnell Farm Park, Yarmouth

One of the Isle of Wight’s most loved attractions, Tapnell Farm Park are hosting two Halloween events this year. New for 2024, the Pumpkin Trail will run from 12th – 13th and 19th – 31st October. Meander along the trail and pick out your perfect pumpkin!

Then, the Pumpkin Festival will be held from 28th – 31st October. You can look forward to a bunch of fun activities like picking your own pumpkin, pumpkin carving, ferret racing, and gourd games. Plus, there will be some vintage funfair amusements, a licensed bar, and plenty of food to enjoy!

Westover Farm, Calbourne

Head over to Westover Farm in Calbourne and grab your own pumpkin right from the field! You’ll find a bunch of different types, sizes, and colours to choose from. They’re open on weekends in October – 5th, 6th, 12th, 13th, 19th, 20th and 26th – 27th October (10am – 3pm).

Wild Oak Farm, Wootton

Another farm opening up its pumpkin patch for pumpkin picking this Halloween is Wild Oak Farm in Wootton. Each day will feature different spooky themes, plus there’s a carving station where you can get creative with your pumpkin. It’s a good idea to book your tickets online, ahead of time. Tickets cover entry to the event and one medium pumpkin. The event runs from 26th – 31st October (10am – 4pm).

Farmer Ralph’s Pumpkin Patch, Newport

Check out Farmer Ralph’s Pumpkin Patch, located at New Fairlee Farm on Mews Lane, nestled between Fairlee Road and Staplers Road in Newport. Head down between 19th – 31st October (10am – 1pm), for a spooktacular day! You can pick your own pumpkin right from the patch and join in on the colouring competition. Don’t forget to explore Farmer Ralph’s Farm Shop for some local produce, including Aberdeen Angus beef, Boer goat meat, fresh eggs, and homegrown vegetables.
