As December rolls in, it’s beginning to look a lot like Christmas! So, we thought it would be the perfect time to share some delicious Christmas savoury recipes for you to try this month.
This collection of Christmas recipes features some tasty savoury dishes like Thai Red Turkey Curry, Leftover Cheese Soufflé and Brussels Sprout Gratin to enjoy.

Thai Red Turkey Curry
If you’ve got some turkey hanging around in the fridge, why not transform it into a delicious south-east Asian dish right in your own kitchen? This recipe creates a homemade Thai curry paste, which adds a unique and vibrant flavour to your meal. It’s a fantastic way to use up those leftovers while also impressing your friends with your culinary skills.
Thai Red Turkey Curry
Ingredients
- 200 g (7 oz) green beans freshly cooked
- 400 ml (13½ floz) coconut milk
- 2 tsp coconut oil
- 2 tsp palm or brown sugar
- 600 g leftover turkey
For garnish:
- handful basil chopped
- handful fresh chilli finely sliced
- handful coriander chopped
For Thai red curry paste:
- 2 tbsp tomato puree
- 2 tsp dried coriander
- 2 tsp dried cumin
- 2 tsp fish sauce
- 8-10 long red chillies
- 6 fresh kaffir lime leaves
- 4 large garlic cloves
- 3 lemongrass stalks outer skin removed
- 2 limes peeled
- 1 large piece of fresh ginger about 8cm long, skin removed
- 1 red pepper deseeded
- 1 large banana
- handful fresh coriander
- handful fresh basil
Instructions
- Make the paste by blending all the paste ingredients together in either a liquidiser or hand-blender.
- Place the coconut oil into a large pan or wok on a medium heat.
- Add the paste to the hot pan and cook for 10-15 minutes until it takes on a deep red colour.
- Stir in all the coconut milk to the paste until mixed fully.
- Reduce the heat to a low simmer and then add the turkey to the mixture.
- Then add the green beans and heat through.
- Serve with boiled rice and garnish with basil, coriander and fresh chilli.

Leftover Cheese Soufflé
If you’ve got some leftover cheese from your Christmas festivities, why not whip up a delicious cheese soufflé? This recipe is a fantastic way to utilize those bits and pieces of cheese that might otherwise go to waste. It’s not just a practical solution; it’s also a chance to create something scrumptious that will impress your family and friends.
Leftover Cheese Soufflé
Ingredients
- 50 g butter plus a little extra for greasing
- 25 g plain flour
- 200 ml whole milk
- 300 g hard and soft cheese cut into chunks
- 100 ml double cream
- 4 eggs separated
- pinch cayenne pepper
Instructions
- Heat the oven to 200°c. Melt all the butter in a saucepan. Brush a 20cm soufflé dish with a little, then dust with the flour.
- In the saucepan, stir the flour into the rest of the melted butter, then sizzle for one minute. Gradually pour the milk to make a white sauce.
- Add two thirds of the cheese allowing to melt.
- Leave to cool slightly then mix in the remaining cheese, cream and egg yolks.
- Season with cayenne pepper.
- In a clean bowl, whisk the egg whites until stiff peaks. Fold into the cheese sauce, then carefully tip into the soufflé dish. Bake for 25 minutes until puffed up and golden.
- Serve with a seasonal salad.

Brussels Sprout Gratin
When it comes to Christmas food, Brussels sprouts often stir up quite a debate. To shake things up a bit and add some flair to these little green veggies, we thought it would be fun to share our delicious Brussels Sprout Gratin recipe. This dish is a fantastic way to elevate the humble sprout and make it a star on your holiday table.
Brussels Sprout Gratin
Ingredients
- 900 g Brussels sprouts trimmed and crossed
- 20 g butter
- 150 g rindless back bacon cut into lardons
- 20 g flaked almonds
- 400 ml double cream
- 2½ tsp fresh lemon juice
- 5½ tbsp fresh white breadcrumbs
- 4 tbsp Parmesan cheese freshly grated
- salt and freshly ground black pepper
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 200°c. Place butter into a large frying pan over a medium heat. Add the bacon and almonds and sauté for 3-4 minutes until lightly browned.
- Add the sprouts and sauté for a further 2-3 minutes, stirring constantly.
- Add the cream and bring the mixture to the boil. Boil for 2-4 minutes until the cream has reduced to a thick sauce. Season to taste with salt and freshly ground black pepper.
- Remove from the heat. Add the lemon juice and spoon into an ovenproof dish.
- Mix the breadcrumbs and Parmesan cheese together in a bowl then sprinkle evenly over the top of the sprout mixture.
- Place into the oven and bake for 20 minutes, until the top is golden and the cream visibly boiling.
- Remove and serve straight from the dish.
